Paul Smith's College Watershed Stewardship Program is looking for up to 30 Watershed Stewards this summer, in locations in the Tri Lakes and as far away as Saratoga Lake and the Fulton Chain of Lakes. The job entails educating the public about aquatic invasive species and performing boat inspections to prevent transport of plant fragments or small organisms such as zebra mussels. This is a paid position in the natural resources management field. It runs from the week prior to Memorial Day through Labor Day. The job is a great resume builder for students in environmental majors. It also is relevant to students studying recreation (public education). Applicants who are not students are also encouraged to apply; preference will be given for college degrees in a related field. This is challenging job that requires dedication and the ability to fill the time between visitors productively. This is not a position for everybody- only dedicated, professional and self-disciplined people will do well in it. Feel free to contact us if you have questions, and we look forward to reviewing applications in the upcoming weeks.
